This movie is about the universe of Mark "Chopper" Read is twisted around the wrong way. His friends are his enemies. His crimes are his achievements. The price on his head measures his worth. He claims that "drugs ruined the criminal world" but he enjoys a little speed up the snout or maybe in the vein. He repeatedly stabs a man's neck and shows eerie remorse. "Fuck, shit, are you OK? Are you alright?" The man is holding his neck together, dying in a pool of blood, and Chopper is asking him whether he?d like a cigarette. Quite the gentlemen. There's a thin line between irony and hypocrisy, and in this case it's a sensitive one too -- Aussie director Andrew Dominik photographing the "career" of the media "star" serial killer.
